Please Help Me

So I'm at the part where you have to get a piece from the well to get through the gate but I can't move the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crank. I've been here for hours trying to figure out how the hell I'm meant to get the piece if the game won't let me properly grab the crank. The most I can do is tap the grab button over and over until it gets to a certain point and then I can't do anything to move it, I've tried pushing it via going to the other side of the crank but the only thing that does is get me stuck with nothing to do but move my camera around. Can't grab the crank, can't crouch, can't even open the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ menu once I move to the other side of the crank. Can someone please help me figure out how I'm meant to do this puzzle?

I had the same problem. Seems to be a bug. I disconnected my controller and restarted the game to use keyboard control and that worked.
