Can you see if you have 5.1 Audio enabled in the main menu settings menu?
It will sound strange if you don't have a surround setup.

Yes that was it. I dont have a surround setup. I use Headphones with my SoundBlaster Z. When i disable 5.1 the sound is OK. :praisesun:

Thanks for the Answer.

I have the exact same problem... But with 5.1 enabled and I do have a 5.1 setup. (working fine with every 5.1 game and DTS movies)

yup, checking the 5.1 setting in the game makes the sound very buggy and like out of a tin can.
im using HDMI->AVR and surround sound works in every other game than UnityEngine games!
im already sick of this game engine, every game thats made with UnityEngine has problems with resolutions, fullscreen mode and most dont even have surround sound!
now i was so happy when i saw the "5.1" setting to check in the games options but it sounds like crap! just unbelievable!

I'm having the same issue. I don't use a sound card, I just plug onto my mboard. But yeah, the game starts out sounding ok during the intro, and then while sitting there being force-fed cake, it slowly degrades to the point where it's not surround sound and sounds super 'tinny', like I'm listening to it from some low quality and really old tape recorder with zero bass. I do have surround sound, but selecting it strips the game of all bass and basically breaks the audio system. And this issue has been reported back in 2015 so clearly it was never anything they felt the need to fix.

I'm glad it's not just me. I can't think of a good reason why the sound is so tinny. Works fine when I disable the 5.1 option in the menu :\
