scrappers or black eels?
is there any real difference on who you side with? I am starting junlyard now. I have done the quests on both sides up until the final choice. What are the benefits? No spoilers if possible.

Yes, there are differences. It's hard to answer without absolutely no spoilers, but a low spoiler answer would be that the Black Eels questline is a little longer, and will have deeper consequences to the junkyard.

Going a little more spoilery: If you work for the Black Eels, you will eventually have the choice to help them defeat the scrappers and take over the junkyard, with the help of either the SGS or the Protectorate (you get to choose) .

I'd say that I found the Black Eels side more interesting, and more rewarding in regards to loot and experience, at least on classic mode.

Scrappers: -2 merchants + loot
Black Eels: -1 merchant + loot

Do nothing: all merchants live, but you don't get as much loot.

There are alot of quests, which are kinda dead end if you feel you like some faction... In this case dead end is choosing scrappers, since once you report wormhole to the Eddy it's "all" for junkyard, you will get 200 charons and exp and thats all.

Helping Eels give you like 3-4 more quests more exp and more charons, kinda cool ending etc. I dont even know the purpose of exposing them to Eddy...

You dont need to kill Blaine, it's just side bounty for Eddy. Actually the final quest for Scrappers is reporting wormhole, he doesnt need you anymore after this. I feel like decent ending for scrappers would be some kind of assassination attempt on Sillas, in maner of kidnapping girl for Ratking, i dunno helping scrappers feel dull and you dont actually help them, since they dont really need anything, you just prevent Eels from taking over.

Ah. Killing Blaine seemed like a terrible idea since he had 87 grade black and ballistic cloth for sale, along with some 60-70 qualityvests when I visited him first. That was the deciding factor for me to go Eel over Scrappers.

There's an unmentioned but severe danger to doing the Eel quests if you anger the faction you ask for help.

Yea Blaine in general very good merchant, especially if you going in Core city after Foundry. I managed to buy from him 120 reaper sniper case and 110 hammerer case. He's good. He also offers some rare blueprints, like different type of bullets or super hypo, that kind of stuff.

Killing him is completely optional, even if you "with" scrappers, it's just a matter if you want those 1000 charons. Im actually not even sure if it's possible to get quest to kill him, if you dont double work with Eels at the point Sillas told you about him, it's also not going into notebook.

You sure? I failed persuasion (SGS decides not to help eels), but after choosing first option during discussion (Let them decide what to do), Tanner agrees to help black eels.

Yea, you might be right, that you need to choose no persuation option. I remember choosing persuation option before patch and it worked for me, maybe it was fixed. Cant say i tried standart option, but when i asked same question someone said he tried everything and it didnt work.

I persuaded SGS by saying "would place us in a more advantegeous position".

Though if the Eels are allied with a faction and you anger that faction, the Eels become hostile too. It's something to think about.

Ok, so to clarify : before patch you couldnt persuade council before handing over armadilo parts without actual skill, but could say whatever after and they will agree. After patch i handed over parts and choosed persuation option ( same as i did before ) and they refused. They guy in other thread said that he checked all options and all were refuse, so i figured out you canot longer involve SGS without persuation skill. Didnt check all options myself tho, so you guys might be right.

Well Blaine is far superior to Gort and SGS merchants will upgrade their stuff, so there will be no reason to back to junkyard to buy anything. I went back their only to buy bullets at Len.

You must be sticking everything in a locker, instead of selling it. With all the craap in this game, the limited inventory and merchant only buying a few things occasionally, merchants are extremely important, at least in my game.

I went with the black eels because they seemed to want to work with me, while the scrappers just wanted me to be their errand boy and debt collector. My current character has more dignity than that.
