This guy...Blaine, yeah. That guy
So, without prior knowledge of anything about the game, I think I've stonewalled myself for trying to find Blaine.
1. I took a reward from Jonas for his watch. Now, when I ask him about Blaine, I can't pass the persuasion check.

2. I didn't put any points into persuasion, because, well, RPG!

3. No one gives me any information, that I've found, about how to find Blaine. No one. I've searched, re-searched and searched again for maybe, that one person, I could have possibly missed. Nope, got them all. I can't find 1 person to divulge his whereabouts. No one.

This is all very disheartening, as I've tried to scour the forums here and have probably read a bit too much going forward, whatever, but everything I've seen says to give Jonas the watch for free to pass his persuasion. HOW are you to know this prior?

Am I missing someone? Something? Somewhere? I'm getting pawned at Depot A because of acid, can't find any vendor on multiple trips that have armor with acid protection or any npc that will sell anything I can make for acid protection. All in all, it's becoming quite the chore for this ONE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GUY. Seriously.

You can press the electronics vendor in Junkyard for information. She's north of the main location.
OnlyOffensive Jan 4, 2016 @ 12:20pm
Yea Katherine will tell his location for 50 charons or persuade/mercantile checks. Silas told you that someone in slums might know about him. There are only 2 persons who you can speak on that topic in slums - fixer and katherine. You should probably read dialogues more closely next time.

Just outside junkyard ( west ) there is a cave with ALOT of siphoners, their skin make excellent ACID resist leather armor, mutant dog armor could do that to, but it's slightly worse.

Ok, found Kat. I actually had been to her prior and had totally forgot about how she was tucked away in that corner and also that she demands 100 cheron because my Mercantile isn't up to snuff either. The armor is gonna take me some time. It's not a matter of getting the hides, I've done that. My crafting just isn't up to snuff yet. Can't find armor to get around it either and until I do I'm dying the death of a million screams.

Well it depends on your playstyle/build but depotA can be fully complete without acid resist, also skins come with different quality, tho siphoner skins are usually quite high. I think around 35-40 is common there? I got 64 quality highest there and alot of lesser stuff.

Also couple vendors occasionally sell Mutant dog armor, at least i saw they do. I think it was Len ( weapon/armor vendor ) and "Hunter" vendor, that on squre near Len's shop. He has couple leather armors every reset, could be mutant dog armor aswell. At least at hard, im pretty sure vendor's overall item/components quality significantly higher on hard than on normal/easy.

I went mainly guns/dodge/lockpick/hack and some points in building items for starters. Not enough to be crazy awesome, just enough to be able to take things apart and sell the pieces for loot and to make some decent guns. Considering how this game is playing out, I'm actually thinking about starting a new build thought out a little more considering what I know now. Not sure. Would still like to finish the game with this build but not sure it may happen. We'll see.

The mutants is Depot A were seriously nerfed because everyone was complaining about the difficulty curve, so even without any acid resist you can still pass it. (I did with 0 resist.)

I can see why honestly. They mob the $hit out of you. They get these crazy debuffs and damage AoE. Being pretty much a straight run and gun first roll I'm not too advantageous with being stealthy and while being in the vents is kind of novel in the beginning it has already started to wear on me. I shouldn't have to "vent it" to beat it and you can't beat it straightforward without some kind of acid protection or really high constitution of some sort.

Use Molotov Cocktail.

You probably want to add utility skill to your build. Like traps or throwns. Crossbow is a bad option to have with guns just for utility bolts, imo. Having utility skill for crowd control / aoe damage, general advantages they provide ( there are ALOT of different mines/throwns that can change flow of battle completely ). Gas grenades, molotov cocktails freezing/acid blob traps. I think you can just buy few MKII frag grenades for depot A in junkyard and they will deal significant damage there etc. Playing without utilityis a bad idea in general with any build.

You don't need enemies to step on mine to enjoy the killing field. Just chuck a grenade and detonate the minefield and watch firework.

Most of the Underrail/Upperrail gameplay for me was start with a grenade and draw every single mobs in the same map to my mine field, then chuck another grenade to auto win. Especially ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Lunatics and their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scanner bilocation spammer.
Stormy Jan 4, 2016 @ 10:36pm
Bilocation is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cancer tbh, I don't think you can do ANYTHING to the doppelgangers even to c/c them right ?
bati Jan 5, 2016 @ 4:12am
You can kill them easily with neural overload but non PSI users just have to wait them out, they disappear after 4 turns.
Stormy Jan 5, 2016 @ 4:15am
Yeah I'm pure melee hammer build, have to rush the scanners or basically have to runaway forever, should really have an electricity resistance set of armor against those guys.

I do have points in thrown as well. Just didn't add that to the mix. I couldn't live without being able to spam some grenades from time to time. However, I will say this. Some of the mobs seem to have a ridiculous amount of AP to move. When a mob can move halfway across the map AND hit me twice, then I'm mad.
OnlyOffensive Jan 5, 2016 @ 4:57am
Kneecap shot is your friend than. Also bear traps doesnt require any trap skill to place, but enemies and especially human enemies will see them with much higher chance and avoid/disarm them ( seems like some humans have integrated trap skill ).
