But you must have at least a little bit of bar left, before you leave the house for the last time, or you'll have to restart the game.
(Many thanks for your help though!)
Sadly no, it's pretty par for the course with Ice-Pick Lodge games which is unfortunate as, while it's a valid design choice, it's not one many are going to want o embrace, especially as the game isn't particularly engaging the 2nd time around as you've already unraveled everything.
Still, the sanity bar chipping away almost out of our control and how it robs us of a proper ending (Madness and death are all very Lovecraft and cool, but come on, I want a finale :) really puts a damper on proceedings.
It would have been nice to at least give people an achievement for getting the "game over" ending. Make it a legit ending rather than an "lol u just wasted 3 hours" troll ending.
Yeah, this is exactly how it feels. The game keeps telling you that "it's time to go outside", "maybe you should check the front door again", etc.; but when you finally do the only option the game will give you, it will promptly laugh at you for falling for that old trick.
Honestly it feels somewhere between a game-state bug and a "made you look" joke from an annoying child.
I guess I'll redo it again at some point, but I think I'll wait until Knock-knock stops smirking at me like that ;)
You should pay more attention to what he says and what he writes. That's the only way to finish this game. And I think, it's awesome :)
I've tried to recall all the game rules from the journal, and I think I know the one you're talking about – but I have no idea how to actually do it. I'm completely at a loss.
