Make Blockland Free [Yay or Nay]

I vote in favor of Yay. Here is my reasoning;


I know Badspot claims he needs financial support for the server hosting, but honestly at this rate of people buying versus how much the server maintenance is it's way too much. Please Badspot start a patreon that's attached to the game and make the game free on Steam. You will rack in the final life and money that this game can offer plus everyone who lost their key in the past won't have to purchase another one.

I disagree. Their point is so easily refutable, this game has been around before Roblox.

i honestly don't want it to go free. I'm fine with it not having much players because if it went free, it could track a lot of cancerous people on the internet and ruin the game.

I mean the game going free may be ok, but this game is long dead, and gate keepers are kicking out newcomers.

I'm going to basically summarize my response to gate keepers, cheaper, and toxicity.

Gate keepers don't exist in the game. Simple as that, if any did they are long gone now. The current players are way way less toxic than the past players we had issues with.

Cheaper would be a good idea, we could make the game cheaper. I'd like to say a good amount cheaper, like 3-5 dollars range if we're going there. At least it creates a pay wall to some degree for people who are scared of the-

Toxicity. This is a problem with any gaming community, making the game free will simply provide opportunity for all walks of life. Yes we had people who purposely bought keys to mass spam the master server in the past.etc but nothing will stop people from doing this. Remedying the problem by saying "Lets put 10 dollars as a pay wall so they don't continue" is simply slapping a small bandage on a way bigger problem. What's a pay wall worth, or the game itself if no one plays it? If that doesn't convince you, look at it this way if Blockland has such vulnerable security why not umm I don't know? Improve it? Yeah this argument baffles me the most because the toxicity stems from old players returning to cause chaos. In reality a lot of new F2P players that join will just be interested in what the game is. This game is the last game someone wants to have aimbot, or wallhack on lets be honest so its not going to attract exploiters, otherwise though its just old players that are taking things too personal.

I believe that's common sense you're using my good sir. Although you had originally misspelled cheaper. I most definitely agree, this game is as DEAD as it can get. Why not make it free? It's not like it has to be free forever, it can go free for like a month to just see what happens. Then go back up to like 5 dollars, this will give people a taste without raids being a thing forever if that becomes an issue.

Not trying to bump it intentionally. Just wanted to make another post and rather add to this one's comments than to waste another whole discussion when what I wanna say at this moment is relatively related to this discussion topic. As for today, i've felt this strong longing to enjoy Blockland. The game that grew with me as a child, not a recreation. The original game. Most people growing up have this feeling with all of there video games.. so why would Blockland be any different? This game should simply go free. It hurts so badly to see a potential playerbase be choked out by a pay wall. Who cares at this rate, we simply need for this game to be stimulated ever so slightly and nobodies going to pay 10 dollars right now for a sandbox game from early 2000s that at time, and time again maintained a rather toxic community.
