She probably isn't a specific fable, instead some sort of Troll. As there are generic creatures in tales, there will be characters that will be just that: random ogre, random troll etc.

It just seems kind of weird to me, considering all the characters in the game so far are from a specific story. It's not like named trolls aren't common in fairy tales or anything.

Willingham does give names to characters though who didn't have a name before, if I remember correctly and he does make up characters. So Holly may be a specific troll or may not. No idea.

I would imagine she's the troll under the bridge in the Three Billy Goats Gruff story, since that's what's depicted on the sign above the door and in the bar.

That troll apparently is Grimble (sp?) in the comics

Oh, is it? I just knew he was a troll. I guess I didn't pay enough attention to him when I read the graphic novels. Well, maybe they're related.

I confess, I looked it up in wikipedia ;)

Would seem odd to be Gren as he isn't a troll
bakerbelle 12/out./2013 às 13:29
Grimble, not Gren. Two different characters.

Gren = Grendel from Beowulf.
She (they?) is the troll from the Billy Goats Gruff. "Trip Trap" alludes to the sound the original author said the goats' hooves made on the bridge.

"Who's that trip trapping on my bridge?"

Well... That's partially correct. As MorningLightMountain already mentioned, he's from The Wind in the Willows. Which is classic children's literature, but it's not really a fairy tale.

Bufkin is one of the flying monkeys from Wizard of Oz, by the way. Many of the fables characters are from classic fiction or folk tales, instead of just fairy tales.

The Jungle Book characters also aren't fairytales characters as such. And let's all bleach our minds and never mention the time he featured various characters based on concepts in literature.
