Actually each of them is as real as the other. How much more real is a person that I am never going to meet compared to a person that I am never going to meet? In my head one is as real as the other. I know you won't get the point and say I'm crazy, like all people who can't understand the ideas of others, but it's the truth to me.

A person in a photo is someone that you *could* meet (even though you won't). Whereas a person in a drawing is someone you just cannot meet (for obvious reasons). Also it might be someone that is far from anything that even exists in real life (although in the current case, characters could thought of as being represented in a stylized realism style, or some such).

Of course, I agree that in the end it doesn't really make that much difference.
