The Donkeyskin was left there as an apology to Prince Lawrence. Whoever found the skin would deliver the letter, the skin being the proof it was actually Faith, to apologize to Lawrence. Since Faith, lily, and Narissa were supposed to leave Fabletown, Faith leaving her husband behind. The whole decapatation thing wasn't part of the plan
And she looked like Snow because of the glamour.
Here's a long shot:
What if Nerissa, glamoured as Faith, went to the apartment looking for Lily (as per scheduld appointment), but the reason she was glamoured as Faith is that she knows that Faith, for whatever reason, left the coat there and she wanted to take it so she could escape. Toad apparently refers to Faith as a former tenant later on, so she goes to her room, meets up with Woodie, they do the nasty, and then she gets into a scrap with him when she doesn't recognize him and he refuses to pay her.
But was Nerissa covering a shift for Lily as Faith, or looking for Lily as Faith? I'm fuzzy on that
That's the best I got at the moment.
