Bloody Mary X Bigby (spoilers)
So I suspect that a sort of twisted romance/attraction was sparked between Bloody Mary and Bigby Wolf, specifically on Mary's end. She, in her own psycho way, has a crush on the sheriff, and I theorize she will return in Season 2 to follow Bigby around being creepy, popping out of mirrors, trying to provoke him, etc... all in the name of love <3

Here are my reasons:
-Bloody Mary clearly loves violence; it's her namesake. She also knows Bigby's violent past, as evidenced by her suggesting that he's gone soft or isn't who he used to be.

-She has several opportunities to kill Bigby, but doesn't-- the first time she shoots him with a silver bullet, she manages to not quite hit his heart, despite having a clear shot with Bigby being distracted at the time by the Tweedles. She opts not to finish him off when he's down, despite the threat he represents to The Crooked Man. Here, she is able to fulfill her obligation as The Crooked Man's body guard by slowing the sheriff down, while still keeping him alive to fight another day.

-She seems to enjoy taunting him to try to provoke him into fighting-- perhaps because she likes this side of Bigby?

-She acts tough, but in some ways is actually rather flirty towards Bigby ("Arf arf")

-During the final fight with her in Ep5, she does not use silver bullets on Bigby, despite probably knowing that he'd be coming and being inside a foundry that manufactures silver bullets-- she clearly had the access, but instead chooses to fight him using her natural powers, instead of dispatching the wolf by unloading bullets in him (which she knows would most likely kill him, especially after being so recently shot by a silver bullet)

-By choosing to fight Bigby using her natural powers she essentially reveals her true self to Bigby, who does the same for her in the battle-- becoming the giant killer wolf of legend she admires. For her, the entire counter is a sort of seduction.

-She's defeated, but I and many others suspect that she isn't truly dead-- again, she's managed to slow the sheriff down, but not kill him. Her motive for escaping when she seems like the type to stay and fight until the final breath is her love for Bigby, especially after that erotically-charged monster fight.

-Some tidbits from her Book of Fables entries: "Thought by mundies to be the wailing apparition of a childless ghost, though any evidence of that is yet unseen" Interesting huh? Bloody Mary may be a mother who lost her child, or was unable to conceive one, suggesting she has at some point experienced a love or desire that led her to be so tormented that she manifests as "wailing."

-"She enjoys her job immensely, and would defend the Crooked Man to the death... mostly because she finds it fun." And what does she find fun? Violence, chaos... perhaps a certain strong, rugged sheriff who has a tendency to go into a blood rage? For her, the "fun" is what's important, and she'll seek it out... which is why I think she'll be pursuing Bigby in Season 2.

Anyone feeling this ship as much as me? :P Seems like it could get weird and complex, what with Snow White trying to get Bigby to avoid violence and his wolfish nature, and Bloody Mary trying to provoke him into violence and bring out his wolfish nature.

Yeah, seeing Big Bad Wolf having sex with Little Red Riding Hood in Knights of Xentar was enough. Also Dwarfs are very naughty too.

Lol your over thinking it... do hope we see her in season 2 tho

She's certifiable psychopatic, fair enough and she does have a morbid affection to Bigby. But I'd say this affection is towards what Bigby was rather than what Bigby currently is -or what he's trying to be.

She did shoot Wolf down but she was perfectly fine with chopping his head off as well, not to mention going through the trouble to obtain Woodsman's axe for some poetic streak. It was simply due to Crooked Man's restraint that she backed off.
However, Mary's return seems very unlikely to me, to be honest. She had a very definite -and now completed- function as being the physical representation of an elusive enemy; she was Crooked Man's enforcer and apart from her physical prowess, we do not have much about her. We actually see more depth about comic relief characters like the Brothers Tweedle (in fairness, they have been around sicne E1, but still). The fight between Wolf and Mary was probably the longest of all combats in the series and I suppose it served as purpose of finality then and there.

As for Bloody Mary being a childless mother, there's a belief that Bloody Mary is an allusion to Queen Mary I, who was also known as 'Bloody Mary' due to her brutal persecution of those who dissented from Catholicism. Queen Mary suffered several miscarriages and false pregnancies, which she blamed on "heretics" in her realm, leading to purges of non-Catholics.

Her demise is certainly part of the climactic duel between the forces of good and evil, and true, she may be dead for good. Because she was the main "physical" enemy of the game I understand her being made to serve that purpose and then being cast aside like a cheap gameplay mechanic... but it seems like they've developed a really cool, scary, unpredictable, villain character who could very easily be written back in, bringing with her all the fear we already associate with her from Season 1 being the only person who came really close to killing Bigby.

Her "death" remains quite ambiguous in my mind though, as Fables are notoriously hard to kill, and already enough have died this season that it would be fair if the writers preserve Mary.

Try callling her name 3 times in front of the mirror. If she shows everything is ok:) BUt yeah she has a big chance to be actually alive, with the fight being just for buying time for Crooked Man. She probably knew she can't kill BIgby in his full wolf form and it will be stupid to commit suicide like that.

It's an interesting hypothesis, and I do agree that it's unlikely she's dead (or at least, not going to stay that way). If this hypothesis turns out to have any meat to it, though, I severely doubt Bigby would want anything to do with her. If nothing else, she has chunks of silver-backed mirrors sticking out of her.

Trying to go for a Joker/Batman set up here? Cause honestly not sure I want that.

I'm rather alright thinking that she's just a sociopath who enjoyed the blood-letting part of the fight and would rather do that than "get it over with." Don't need the whole shipping thing here. Thanks.

Yeah she could be just that-- but how neat would it be if there was something more there to her character?! How does a person like Bloody Mary find love? I can certainly see her being attracted to Bigby, though it would probably be a one-sided attraction.

It would be very much a Joker/Batman type ship, except Mary knows for a fact that Bigby is a killer and has a side of himself he can't always control, and that aspect of him may actually be more real than the "human" he pretends to be.

Maybe Bigby could find a way to help Mary reach redemption? After all, the very last Book of Fables entry explains that Bigby is constantly trying to prove himself to the community despite his violent past.

I'm sure Bigby found her very attractive after Mary made the mandatory "your mother!" joke

She clearly knows just how to offend Bigby so that he'll be provoked into combat-- he hates any usage of the word "♥♥♥♥♥", which may relate to his relationship with his mother. Certainly she is the first character to express a clear understanding of Bigby's family. This, to me, is further proof of Mary's growing obsession with Bigby.

Everybody knows everybody's violent past in Fabletown. When all the Fables came to our world they made a deal that all past crimes would be forgiven and start anew.
NobodyNeuOnyx Jul 8, 2014 @ 11:01pm
My penis would love to see Bigby in werewolf form ( humanoid, not humongowolf ) railing a psycho ♥♥♥♥♥ like that against the wall, but my brain says eehhh I don't think what you think is there, is actually there.
