What happens if I don't go to the room at the end of the hallway?

You never progress any further in the game and are permanetly stuck in that hallway.You could rework that question to be about any game with a linear narrative and structure and the answer would be the same.

Spoilers:
you can enter the room on the right, but the little mermaid isn't in there, its just empty and you act all stupid. You can listen in on the other rooms. The one on the left has some one in there doing something with a girl.

Yeah I went into every room. Mainly because Beauty kept insisting that I hurry up, and I found it funny to take as long as possible even though I knew exactly what room it was :P
