Verify integrity of installed files, located in The Wolf Among Us page > settings > properties > Installed files > Verify integrity of game files.

This solved the issue for me relating to missing choices and/or no choices showing up, speaking animation, no instructions about what key to be pressed while dodging or beating, etc.

Or, if you're desperate and willing to try on new things, put a Linux distribution on a pendrive, boot it up, install Steam + the game and play without issues out of the box.
