I'm really digging the opportunity to see some examples of early concepts/prototypes in these :)
The visual style and music alone, lift it far above any competition, imo. Simply adore the Dreamcasty asthetic to it. In fact, I'd proclaim that this, as the Shovel Knight is to 8-bit idiom goes, would essentially be the 32-bit console era 'classic that never was'.
PS An over-the-shoulder camera would be pretty cool for AAC. Tried FPS but heh, I was on Vespula and you can't see the discs she throws as they are 2D sprites.
