Water texture corruption for Geforce users
There is a longstanding problem with the water in Shadowgrounds not being rendered correctly (or not rendered at all in some cases) for Geforce users. On my old Windows XP computer with a GTX 460, the water textures looked like this: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=4274372

On my new Windows 7 computer with a GTX 980 Ti, it looks like this:

A friend of mine also reported issues on his GTX 750 Ti card.

I think this is what the water is supposed to look like:

Even though the textures and reflection look correct in that final shot, the rain does not appear to be hitting the water correctly, although I'm not sure if that's still a bug or if that's just the way it was programmed.

The earliest moment you would know if you're having similar issues is at the game's first boss fight - the tentacled creature in the room with four pools of water in the middle. The water in that room should look roughly like it does in this video: https://youtu.be/mmv5ZcqiGpw?t=385

If it's just completely black or otherwise corrupted on your computer, you should first disable anti-aliasing completely in the Shadowgrounds configuration program. If that doesn't completely solve it, you can also try lowering the "Misc" setting in the Advanced options menu to Low.

I'm not holding out hope for a patch to fix this after so many years, but hopefully this will help for anyone else having this issue.

I can confirm this happens with a GTX 960 4GB too. Gotta try to lower graphics quality as you said. Thanks!
