Where to buy ME2 DLCs, and will it work on Steam?

Hello folks. I just finished ME2, and I would like to play the downloadable contents. Question is, where to buy them, and most importantly, will it work on Steam? especially when there's this thing called Origin, i'm very afraid if i'll buy a DLC and EA will say must use Origin to play. Help?

Not sure i downloaded and played zaed's revenge (free DLC) but that was before Origin I would definitely try installing that first because it's free anyway

If you bought ME2 on steam, you won't have to use origin to play the dlc's. As far as the DLC goes, you just have to log in to your ea/bioware account for a one time verification that you own the DLC you have installed. As for purchasing the DLC for PC, you go directly to Bioware's website to purchase the DLC. Granted you'll have to buy Bioware points before you can buy any dlc but other than that, ME2 DLC is actually pretty easy to install.

Lair of the Shadow Broker fo sho. Quality, Liara focused mission/story

Arrival and Overlord are ok too. Arrival explains a bit about ME3. Kasumi and Zaeed are alright missions and good squadmates. Zaeed is a boss

As Mr. Peru said, the paid story DLC (assuming you have a Cerberus Network Key) for Mass Effect 2 are "Kasumi: Stolen Memory", "Overlord", "Lair of the Shadow Broker", and "Arrival".

All of the DLC can be played at any time during the game, except for "Lair of the Shadow Broker" which can only be accessed after the Horizon mission which opens up the Hub world the first part of it begins on.

As for when the DLCs can/should be played: Kasumi, I would recommend getting her and playing her mission right at the start of the game because it will give you access to a really cool Sub-Machine Gun called the Locust that becomes really helpful on later missions.

The other DLCs, I would recommend saving for after the Suicide Mission, playing Arrival last as it essentially functions as a story bridge into ME3. Also, it helps to be maxed out at Level 30 as it one long mission with you controlling Shepard and JUST Shepard.

I would also recommend buying the Weapons/Armor packs as I, in my personal experience, have found the weapons and armor contained in them to be extremely useful. They are the Aegis, Equalizer, and Firepower packs.

Another thing is if you don't have ME1 there is also an interactive comic book style DLC called "Genesis" that allows you make the major choices from the first game so you won't have deal with the crap-default choices in ME2.

I got mine from the bioware website, far as I know they aren't Origin downloads and ran fine with my Steam version of ME2.

For Mass Effect 1 DLC:


Bring Down The Sky (FREE) - You can download it from here. It no longer requires a key to install.

Pinnacle Station - Can no longer be purchased separately. Can only be obtained by buying either ME1 or the Mass Effect Trilogy on Origin.

Both Bring Down The Sky & Pinnacle Station can be obtained by redeeming your ME1 key in Origin and downloading Mass Effect via Origin instead. Both DLC will be included in the installation. 

Even if you redeemed it before it should still redeem the new DLC including copy, you would have two entries for ME1 in your Origin account though, both showing the same key. I recommend hiding the old version so you know which one is which.

For Mass Effect 2 DLC:

If you don't have a BSN/Origin account already create one here[social.bioware.com]

Register your game here[social.bioware.com]

Redeem your Cerberus Network Code here[social.bioware.com]

Buy DLC from here[social.bioware.com]

Download your DLC from here[social.bioware.com]

Then install them all. Once done run ME2 and on the main menu login to your BSN account to authorise the DLC (should be a one time only per computer deal).

MonkeySeeker i'm download bring down sky dlc and install. that dlc did not accept my cd key and when i try your universal key; it's also failed. where should i download that dlc?

DLC purchased through Origin for the Origin version of the game will show up and be downloadable on social.bioware.com.

However, you cannot:
- install ME2 through Steam, then download and install DLC through Origin for the Steam version of the game.
