Controller Mod on Bazzite

Was thinking of revisting this game now that it should run well with good battery on a handheld PC, so I downloaded this game on my Bazzite OS GPD Win 3. It launched but I'm surprised to find that it doesn't support controller natively. So I looked up for Controller mods(https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect2/mods/62). But game just crashed once I replaced the files.

So Anyone have luck getting controller mod of any kind working on Bazzite/Steam Deck? I want to get controller working with the console-like UI, I am not looking for just Steam input remapping the keys.

same here on Steam Deck.
Native controller implementation should be easy to add.
But i guess they excuse them selves with the new version that requires EA app to launch.
