I can't continue in awakening

Help!! I'm playing Mass effect 2 and only 2 hours in. I'm in this section i've looked up called awakening part 4 on wiki. I have the two guys with me, one is named wilson. I've killed all the robots in the level. Going up some stairs, there are two rooms. On the left is a room with a dead body, a computer, a safe and a tablet. I've cracked both those. Now on the right is another room with a locked door. I can't open it. After looking everywhere for a switch or key, i looked it up and apperently wilson is supposed to open the door once you approach it. but he never does. I keep walking up to the door and it won't open or progress to the next cut scene where miranda opens and kills wilson. how do i do this? i really want to play, but i'm getting a little cheesed off that already 2 hours in and i'm stuck because of a bug or glitch. I've looked on google, but i can't find this problem anywhere else. Is there a suggestion?

i should mention, i've shut down the game, re loaded the save, started from beginning, i've verifed the integrity of the game. It found 1 file to update and it did. no problems anywhere else just here.

Just restart the game, man!

If what you say is true, there's no way you've been playing for two hours (unless you are slower than a snail). That is like the second scene and it happens some 4-5 minutes from the very beginning.

I've restarted the game. It may not of been 2 hours game play. I was just going off the save game time code. It's not the second scene. I don't think. It's the first time shepard meets and talks to miranda. I'm at the door where she comes out and shoots that guy, but the door never opens nor does the guy who i'm guessing is supposed to open even go near it. when i command him to move next to the door, he still doesn't trigger the scene. so my question is, has anyone had this issue before. I'm not running any mods or altering any files. I just can't figure out if this is a glitche or am i missing something.

You sure u didn't just take a wrong turn? Think there were some stairs then youd have to go left, when to the right there was a dead end..

i've been both right and left. I'm stuck in this large hanger room with no exit. There is no door that opens out except to this room with a dead body and a safe and a computer. Other than that, i've been back several times and i still get stuck. It like a trigger for the guy wilson thats with me isn't loading when i get to the locked door. I've checked youtube for answers, and the video walkthrough has him opening the door. He doesn't for me. Am i the only one to have this issue?

Ok just played that part. You're right, it's the door to the right. It is marked red and doesn't open upon walking up to it - had to 'use' it by pressing space bar - that triggers the cutscene with Miranda.

I just tried again. I'ts not working. I wonder if this is a bug. I go up to the door and it's locked. When i "use" it, it tells me the door is locked. i walk away, i tell wilson to go next to the door, i checked all the other doors, this is the only one that seems to be where miranda comes out of. I have no clue what to do. god help me if this is something i'm missing or not doing right.
