Reload canceling; any other useful but undocumented stuff?
For the uninitiated:

For a number of weapons (hello, Claymore...), the reloading-sequence animation actually continues long after the weapon is considered reloaded.

Taking certain actions -- such as using a power, or moving into or out of cover, or using medigel (*) -- will interrupt your existing animation. If you interrupt ASAP after the weapon is reloaded, you can effectively raise your DPS by a fair bit.

(*) Handy in ME3MP, for instance; tapping the medigel button is a reliable way to reload cancel that won't cause you to leave cover, or to expend a power, or in fact to use any medigel unless you're downed. It'd probably work in ME2, but there may be times when using medigel would be expended to revive a squadmate and you'd rather wait.

Skipping dialogue/cutscenes with spacebar and not hitting a yet invisible dialogue option.

(Keywords to Ctrl-F with - skip cutscene)

Another major thing about ME2 is that all the loading happens quite quickly. However the 15sec loading screens play for full 15sec every time. Why? Because video length (and BioWare's idea that you HAVE to watch through the whole shuttle landing schematics every time). The one solution I've encoutered was about replacing all the videos with a short 3sec ME2 logo ones.

I haven't tried it personally though.

I am pretty sure they changed it. For PC, at least.

My "quickloads" still take full 15 sec on PC.

Then it could just be your PC.
