Mass Effect 2 (2010)

Citadel DLC Question
I'm curious to find out if doing missions on the Citadel will count against the invisible clock of the Mass Effect 3 world. Google isn't being helpful in this situation so I thought I would ask the forum. I JUST got to basically act-two of Mass Effect 3 (after fighting cerberus in a major location) and immediately went to check out the Citadel DLC. Didn't realize I would get locked into a series of missions and I want to make it to the Asari home world before too long for the best results.

I have a save just before entering Citadel DLC, should I load it up and go do that before the DLC or am I okay to see this through?

No "Priority" missions will expire or be affected by taking your time. So feel free to take as long as you like, it will not affect anything with regards to Thessia.

One side mission has a time limit and must be completed within 3 missions of acquiring it.

A number of other side missions must be completed before progressing past certain points in the main story otherwise they will expire.

Those missions are:

  • Benning: Evidence: This expires if not completed before Priority: Tuchanka.
  • Citadel: Alien Medi-Gel Formula: This expires if not completed before Priority: Tuchanka.
  • Citadel: Barla Von: This expires if not completed before Priority: Tuchanka.
  • Citadel: Biotic Amp Interfaces This expires if not completed before Priority: Tuchanka.
  • Citadel: Hanar Diplomat: This expires if not completed before Priority: Tuchanka.
  • Citadel: Improved Power Grid: This expires if not completed before Priority: Tuchanka.
  • Grissom Academy: Emergency Evacuation: This expires if not completed before Priority: The Citadel II.
  • Ismar Frontier: Prototype Components: This expires if not completed before Priority: Tuchanka.
  • Tuchanka: Turian Platoon: This expires if not completed before Priority: Thessia.
  • Tuchanka: Bomb: This mission will be failed if not completed within three missions after acquisition.
  • Rannoch: Admiral Koris: This expires if not completed before Priority: Rannoch.
  • Rannoch: Geth Fighter Squadrons: This expires if not completed before Priority: Rannoch.

I mean missions like Grissom where in if you don't make it within a few missions or events you end up with losses that you might not have expected or even former team members dying off.

Well you're already past the point where many missions expire.

As I said above most missions that have an expiry will only expire after getting to a certain point in the main (non-DLC) story.

So no, missions will not expire while playing the DLC nor will anything bad happen by not doing them fast enough.
