Mass Effect 2 (2010)

Mass Effect 2 (2010)

Using Genesis doesn't work?
I am trying to use the Mass Effect: Genesis DLC, but it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix/enable/use it?

Did you install it properly? Did you activate it? Did you check it with starting new playthrough?

I think I installed it properly (steam says it installs automatically) and I think I activated it (it's on my Cerberus terminal in the main menu). I did check if it worked. It doesn't.
Any ideas?

If Cerberus Terminal says that you've installed it so... are you completely sure that after intro-mission on Normandy SR-1 the comix does not start? Like on that video from 10:24 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtjcw1mK_H4

Nope, I just tried again. Right after the Mass Effect 2 logo (after he dies) it goes straight to the Lazarus Project cutscene... :/
- still with the main menu terminal telling me the DLC is there...

This is 2 years old, but I'm having the exact same problem. Have you found any kind of fix for this?

After the opening cutscene where she fries on reentry (sorry for the spoiler but this game is old), there is no comic book phase that starts, it goes straight to the lab to begin the tutorial.

I've started two games, both times logged into EA and as the image above shows, it says I have Genesis, but it simply does not start.

We shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops to get stuff to work.

Why is no one doing anything about this? I had this on xbox a few years back and it wasn't a problem. Now, I also COULD just play through the first game and just use my save from it and all that jazz, but I also already know what choices I'm going to make, so, I think I should have my options open to just start up a new game with those choices. Also the other DLC doesn't seem to be working either.

Did you all tried to activate and install the game from Origin? Steam version seems to have all sorts of problem when you try to play with DLCs

That is not showing you have Genesis. That little carousel shows DLC that are available for purchase - whether you already own them or not. Did you purchase the Genesis DLC, or did you simply download and install it from EA's website, hoping it would "just work"?

Don't be a troll.

Not trolling, dude. You're a touch sensitive.
The Genesis DLC is not included with any edition of ME2 on PC. To have it work with any version of ME2 on Steam, it needs to be registered to the EA account that is used to log in to the Cerberus Network. It is registered to an EA account by purchasing it from the Origin store - whether via the ME2 DLC bundle or through the purchase and use of BioWare Points.

I was asking if you downloaded the file from https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/download-dlc-for-classic-origin-games/ thinking it would work without the need to register it to your EA account. It's a common mistake a lot of people make, because EA is not very clear how to obtain / install DLC for ME2. The fact that the Genesis DLC shows up in the info carousel in the main menu of ME2 does not prove that it is installed or that you own it.

I'm having the same problem in 2020! I bought the deluxe version through steam which comes with genesis, but genesis doesn't come up, even though it shows as installed in steam and I'm logged into cerberus.

There is a clear issue with activating products in origin after purchasing them in Steam, I can't activate Battlefront 2 or Jedi Fallen Order either. Please fix your integration steam/EA!!!

Genesis is not included with any version of ME2 sold on PC. If you didn't buy the ME2 DLC bundle on Origin (register the dlc to your EA account), you're won't be able to use it.

So many years... so little answers. I've ran it in the past in a previous playthrough years ago, but today I can't get it to trigger. Very frustrating.
