Trying to import ME 2 save in ME 3

Hey guys

yesterday i bought Mass Effecrt 3 on Origin. I heard that I can use my ME 2 save there. So I downloaded ME 2 and installed ME 2 from Steam again (I finished it one or two years ago and deleted the files).
But now, ME 3 finds no save games. According to EA all complete saves are recognized.

Why? Do I have to finish ME 2 again? I'm at the last mission...

Did you sync your ME2 saves to the Steam cloud? If not, then your saves are probably be lost.

Here's how to be certain, though.

Navigate to [username] / My Documents / BioWare / Mass Effect 2 / Save. If you have any save-files to import, this is where they will be. If the folder is empty, well, you'll have to play ME2 all over again.

i think because ME3 isn't on steam you might not be able to import your saves from steam to origin

i could be wrong though

Will I be able to import a save file from Steam into Mass Effect 3?
Some customers are concerned that their Mass Effect 2 save files from the Steam version for the game will not work in Mass Effect 3, which requires Origin. Do not worry, any complete Mass Effect 2 save file can be imported into Mass Effect 3.

Yeah i downloaded ME 2 to get my saves from the steam cloud (whish worked fine for me). But now I created a new file. Too much effort...
