The controller works very well but there is an issue with the menus.
Movement: WASD
Battle Menu: L Shift
Sprint / Take Cover: Spacebar
Primary Fire: L Mouse
Aim: R Mouse
Switch Weapon: M Wheel
Combined with the ability to map abilitis to the 1-9 number slots I pretty much left controllers in the dust after ME1 on 360. Give it a shot and I expect you will enjoy if not prefer the Keypoard/Mouse setup.
This guy has been working on this. Apparently it even has radial support and vibration now! I am considering trying it out, but haven't tested yet.
This is what I'm currently using. There's 1 or 2 quirks with it. You have to use Gibbed's Save Editor to map a power to the Y button, but this is stated in the readme for the download. Also, if you experience the Cerberus Login Issue (which I currently am experiencing...) it can be a headache. Otherwise it basically gives the game EXACT Xbox 360 controller support, including force feedback.
As far as the power to the Y button, I haven't even tried to map it. I can easily play without it. I don't mind pausing to select the power as much.
Very fun playing with 360 controller for a change!
