Mass Effect 2 (2010)

[FIXED] Clicking "Import Character" seemingly does nothing...
So I went through the steps of pointing the configuration/launcher for the game to my ME1 save file (which I finished ME1 with) and proceeded to launch the game > new game > import ME1 character. My save file of a lvl36 character shows up but, when I click "Import Character", nothing happens. I even checked the Documents folder on the system and the character shows up in the Save > ME1 folder. What is going on? Please help...

EDIT: I verified the integrity of the game cache and it's working now, in case anyone else has this problem :)

oh come on, there are many posts on steam what to do (on google also). why are people to lazy to search for answers ???

you have to go to ME2 folder -> binaries ->ME2config app -> save games -> copy ....

next time try to find a solution first, then ask

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you're a hypocrite! You accuse me of not doing my research and reading before posting and yet you go ahead and post what I've seen on every forum without actually seeing what my problem is! Even if you just looked at the picture I linked in the post you would quite clearly see that I HAVE copied the save file over because it shows up under the New Game > Import ME1 Character section.
The problem is that in that screen, where my lvl36 character is selected, I click "Import Character" and nothing happens - whereas, from what I've heard, it should just start the game with that character. So please, do tell me more about how I'm lazy and don't try to find a solution before asking.

When you click in the config tool to copy the ME1 saves nothing does happen to say that it's worked.

If you go to Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save\ and there is a folder named ME1 with a save in it then it's worked.

You need to Start ME2 and choose to start a new game, then select import ME1 character and you should then see your character and be able to import.

Sorry if I didn't make it clear, but it's the button within the game on that very screen you are referring to that does nothing (as you can see in my screenshot). Not sure if I'm missing something here but I'm pretty sure I've followed all the steps correctly.

Yeah I re-read and deleted my original answer, sorry.

But yeah at that point it SHOULD import the character. I'm not sure why it isn't doing there.

No worries mate :) Well, I just got home and tried it again, then verified the integrity of the game cache, tried again, and it worked this time. Maybe some files got messed with when I upgraded to Windows 10. Thanks for the help anyways :P
