HELP: Platinum/Palladium - for ship upgrades
So, am following the Mass Effect 2 Guide/Walkthrough.

It tells me that I must upgrade my ship armor/weapons/shields to survive the upcoming Collector attack. However the guide doesn't explain how we can acquire the huge amounts of Palladium or Platinum?

What is the easiest and quickest way to gain Platinum/Palladium enough for upgrading ship armor/weapons/shields?

if you have Shadow broker dlc you can buy maps, which marks planet with huge amounts of ore.
if you haven't got it, the only one wa is check every single planet - scanning (not using probes). if there is a huge amount of ore, launche probe, if average (or less) go scanning to another

Look up somewhere what planets where have the best deposits, then go there and mine them.

Rich planets. They tend to have certain visuals, but you can look online for what ones have the most of what you want.

More star maps appear as you continue through the game, buy maps in Illium, and like stok said, there can be assistance in the Shadow Broker DLC if you complete it before the ending instead of after it.

It can be useful to check out every planet anyway, since you may unlock sidemissions on them.

The very fastest way is to modify your save file to give you maximum resources. Look it up.
