Mass Effect 2 (2010)

Playing as a female character?
So yesterday I've passed Mass Effect 2 the 9th time, and I realised something - I've never played as a female character! Now because I'm a guy, I usually don't play as female characters, but I've figured I'd try, but I have to know first - How much of a game difference is there?

Nothing new there. just one thing you can date with male characters.

Nothing is really that different. Other than it being a different voice actor, different romance options, and a few unique bits of dialogue here and there from other characters.

Mostly romance options.
Female Shep can romance some guys and can't romance some gals.

The female voice actor is approximately 100000x better than the male one. The male one is too bland and boring, female one actually has personality

A bit different dialogue from Shepard and NPCs.
A voice actress that people seem to regard to be better (at least in ME1 and maybe ME2).
Romance options*.
A bit different animations at times, even though she still uses the male rig otherwise (which can result in really inappropriate stances in certain scenes and clothing on, haha).

~~~
*Male:
-Ashley (ME1-ME3, ME1, ME3)
-Liara (ME1-ME3, ME1, ME2 DLC, ME3)
-Miranda (ME2-ME3)
-Jack (ME2-ME3)
-Tali (ME2-ME3)
-Kaidan (ME3), samesex
-Steve (ME3), samesex
Female:
-Kaidan (ME1-ME3, ME1, ME3)
-Liara (ME1-ME3, ME1, ME3), 'samesex'
-Jacob (ME2-kindaME3), tossed
-Thane (ME2-kindaME3), kinda tossed
-Garrus (ME2-ME3)
-Samantha (ME3), samesex
(ME2-ME3 means that it must begin in ME2 in order to continue. ME1-ME3 means a trilogy-long romance in some way, even if not necessarily required that way)
Not counting more minor deals like with Kelly, or misc. NPCs that express interest.
Some avid fans swear by FemShep. Over time, FemShep became more of a recognized 'thing' by Bioware (as in, fans' specific interest in her as a separate protagonist) and added more and more bits specific to her. Citadel DLC in ME3, for example, has a lot more specific FemShep dialogue that works for her.
I'd say do at least ONE trilogy playthrough as FemShep. It is a unique enough experience. At least it is more than Pre-service History, Psychological Profile, Visual Profile, and Class (though class is rarely recognized at times or in ways).
Personal favorite is sticking with Thane, when all content is regarded. I really like its direction (many Thane fans do not, but whatever), and the script for all of it together.
Not much. Basicly saying the same thing but have different crew to bed with.
Why you resist this.
Femshep's voice acting. Nuff said.
Well, I've started a new game (from ME1) and I agree, Hale's voice acting is better than Meer's. But I am finding Meer's voice acting more memorable. Might be that he actually passed the games multiple times, so he's more attached to the game?,,,Might just be his voice though.
Meer is more... lighthearted and kinda joking ish as a voice actor. makes him better in funny situations. But hale.. well for one its jennifer hale. Nuff said. She's damn good. but mainly is that she compels alot more emotion in her voice acting.
I like Meer's voice acting more in ME2 and ME3 than ME1. His talent definitly improved over time, and the man's capable of making great speeches when voicing Shepard in this game. He may not have the same amount of experience as Hale, but you can't dismiss the fact that he began to fit Shepard well as he continued to voice him in the franchise.
This is why I play Femshep
The only thing really disappointing with FemShep is the amount of romance options. She already has less in ME2, and in ME3 she barely has any. Her voice acting is IMO better than MaleShep though.
