Which characters can I kill without the bad ending?

Or is this even possible before ME3? I am attempting a racist/darkcel series playthrough for a chuckle. Mordin and Jack at the bare minimum need to die because they are reddit and cringe, respectively.

To make this simpler, here's a list of squadmates I plan to keep alive during this playthrough of the trilogy:
Legion
Garrus
Grunt
Wrex
Zaeed
Kaidan
Thane (I can't remember if his death from that illness is inevitable or not.)

Squad members I want to die:
Jack
Mordin
Miranda
Ashley
Kasumi

Everyone else's fate I'm indifferent towards.

I am not sure if Javik can die because I never played the DLC, but I'd like to keep him around.
I am pretty sure Liara and Tali can't die due to their importance to the plot through the whole series.
I have also heard that Jacob cannot die. Is this true?

Jack or Miranda, if you romance them in ME2, don't continue their relationship in ME3 and they'll die,

Ashley, is easy just save Kaiden on Vermire in ME1

Mordin, Not sure on this but I think you don't do his loyalty mission in ME2 and give a job like lead fireteam in suicide mission but this could probably cause deaths elsewhere, not sure on this one as I try to save everyone for their appearance in ME3 Citadel dlc

Mordin will eventually die in Mass Effect 3 if you plan to cure the genophage, which is mandatory to keep Wrex alive I think.

Thane is a dead drell, no matter what you do. Kepral's syndrome has no cure and he gets badly injured by that damn Cerberus ninja. Revenge is the only option.

That's only wiki memory though, I keep them all alive everytime. Well, except Thane and Mordin. And Ash.

Edit: Oh, and Legion. I think he dies no matter what as well in Mass Effect 3, either killed by Tali or sacrificing himself. Dammit, hate all those forced deaths.

Absolutely no romancing in this playthrough. Shepard's a Dark Celibate.
Conditions for this playthrough are:
-renegade choices only
-make human-centric decisions where possible, which means doing favors for Cerberus whenever the opportunity is available
-ostracize female characters in any way i can
-filter out undesirable crew members as listed above

I remember killing Jack my first time going through 3 and I didn't romance anyone, so I'm assuming that step isn't necessary to kill them.

depends if you want to save the students at Grisom academy, if you want to save them and Jack survives the suicide mission then romancing in 2 then ending it in 3 is the only way,

If you don't want to save the students to have Jack killed then don't do the mission at Grisom, otherwise you could just not do their loyalty mission in 2 and take them with you on the final part of the suicide mission, use her to create the barrier while not loyal should do it

Jack: Don't buy Heavy Ship Armor.

Mordin: Don't complete his loyalty mission, pick him as escort (crew will survive, but he doesn't). He will sacrifice himself in ME3 so he will day anyway, unless Wrex and Eve are dead, then you can talk him over to not fix Genophage.

Miranda: Don't complete her loyalty mission and pick her as second one to boss fight.

Ashley Left her on Virmire in ME1.

Kasumi: Don't buy Multicore Shielding.



Javik can only die in worst RED ending.

You can't kill Liara (minus worst RED ending), Tali will commit suicide if you pick Geths over Quarians.

You can kill Jacob: Pick him as vent expert, he will die.

Apparently the consequences of some crew members dying are way less worse than I remember them being and don't ♥♥♥♥ over the continuity - almost everyone who dies in 2 can get replaced by a new character in 3. Good to know also that it's possible to get Tali killed. Based!

Even if you do Mordin's loyalty mission, he will die in the suicide mission if not selected to take the Normandy survivors back to the ship. It is literally the only way he survives.

Accomplished.... After like five attempts to engineer it almost exactly as I wanted it. Jack, Mordin, Kasumi, Miranda, Samara and Jacob all die with this.

For anyone else interested, how to tailor the suicide mission, Darkcel style:

Complete the loyalty missions of Thane, Garrus, Legion, Zaeed, Grunt, & Tali. Kasumi's and Jacob's are optional

(Do not buy Multicore Shielding or Heavy Armor to kill both Jack and Kasumi in one fell swoop)

Vents specialist: Legion
Fire team leader: Garrus

Biotic shield: Samara, one squad member will die in this team with you, so I picked Jacob. I tried multiple times to get Miranda to die here instead to no avail so it only works on certain squad members
(I think if you didn't do Jacob's loyalty mission, used him for the shield, and then put Samara and Miranda with you, that could kill one of them while ensuring Jacob lives. Here however it's unnecessary)
Diversion squad leader: Garrus
Escort: Mordin (he dies, as expected)

Final boss team: Miranda and Samara, as it turns out, both of them will die

Mordin on fireteam will cause two deaths. Put him on the escort team.
