Dunno but you can use your steam copies key on origin so it gets unlocked there and you can buy the DLC there then,

Yes when you selected the game on the right under CD key I think it should also come up when you launch the game first.

if i buy the dlc's on the origin version will it be applied and be able to be used back on the steam version? will i also have to keep the origin version installed and downloaded as well?

Personally I think it's an insult that the DLCs aren't available elsewhere and you can only buy them with Bioware Points which, of course, you have to purchase in predefined quantities which you'll never be able to fully redeem with the DLCs due to incompatible prices (hence, you have to pay even more for them than their actual price)*. That, and the absurdly high pricing, has been keeping me from buying them so far. I know this has been discussed at great length elsewhere, but I just wanted to write down my two cents. It's sad that questions like the above need to be asked to begin with.

*Edit: I take back that part of my post: just found out that Origin does offer Origin Points in the appropriate amounts. Still way too expensive, though.

You don't have to use origin to buy and install the Mass Effect 2 DLC, you can use the bioware social website, here are the links in this thread:

When you buy Mass Effect 2 on steam you are automatically viable for the "Cerberus Network" DLC which includes Zaeed as a new squadmate, a new mission plus some other in game items.

Thanks for your reply! I'm aware of the Cerberus Network content. The Bioware website only offers payment with Bioware Points, which is pretty much the same as with Origin Points, unfortunately... I really don't get why they have to make it this complicated when it could all be solved with a simple PayPal payment, ideally with the most essential DLC available as a neat bundle.

I don't know why the digital deluxe edition didn't have all the dlc instead of just a fraction, what makes it so deluxe? lol

My thoughts exactly.
