Kasumi Loyalty Mission Crashing?

Okay so I have looked online to find a solution for this and I am getting frustrated. I have clear the mission and I watch the whole graybox scene with Shepard and Kasumi. I see the briefing screen and try to exit out to go back to the Normandy and it goes completely black. It freezes other functions on my computer except for the ability to restart it.

Some have said that restarting the mission and not dying should resolve it. I tried that and still get the black screen.

I purchased the game on steam and use the key to transfer it to Origin so I can download the dlc and play the dlc, since I am unable to purchase the dlc through steam. At this moment I dont really have a save point earlier. I will lose several hours if I restart a previous save file.

It amazes me that there is no concrete solution for this. Like the developers didn't see this as a gamebreaking bug and didnt find a solution to fix it. I played this on the PS3 and didn't come across this problem so not sure how to resolve it.

If anyone can help please help. I know this game has been out for awhile but it is one my favorite game series and I was replaying through the trilogy again.

So I did a few things and not sure what exactly worked but I was able to get back to the Normandy and complete the mission.

One I turned off all the graphics settings that I could in the menu, motion blur. dynamic shadows etc. Next was when I was in the scene with Kasumi, I let her keep the memories. Before I told her to destroy them. Not sure if that would cause the black screen of freeze. But it worked.

Really beyond me that this hasn't had an official patch, but if you run into the same issue. I hope this helps. I played Mass Effect 3 and letting her keep the memories really has no effect on the story anyway, so I saw no harm in it.

Just a heads up, There is a crash that happens when you get to Illium later in the game. Crashes everytime unless you play in Windowed mode for that area and turn Dynamic shadows off.

I haven't encounter the Illium crash yet. I still have the Shadow Broker dlc to do but I am holding off on that until I do the main game. I am doing Arrival and Shadow Broker dlc after I finish the main game.

I just found the Kasumi crash irritating. I tried doing the whole mission from beginning without dying but that didn't work and I saw someone mentioning turning off dynamic shadows and I thought wth not.

Just glad it worked. I would of have been pissed if I couldn't progress or start a save that was like 5 hours ago lol.

But thanks for the heads up, when I go back to Illium to talk to Liara about the Shadow Broker, I will keep that in mind.

As weird as it sounds, for me when I did Thanes' loyalty mission at least before Kasumis', the end briefing passed just fine. For the Illium part, the crash tends to occur when you're passing the space under Liaras' office, managed to pass that just by facing downward while walking forward. No idea of the reason/triggers, for my setup at least.

yeah seems to be 100% crash rate at the spot you mentioned unless you do the steps I mentioned above.

wish EA would patch it but they clearly dont care about the series anymore.

Luckily I haven't ran into that glitch yet. I had to go back to buy more fish because they died lol. Had to flirt with Kelly to look after my fish. Honestly the fish mechanic is annoying. I am off scanning planets and doing missions left and right and I have to go back to feed fish? I feel bad when they die so I go back to the Illium and the Citadel to buy them again.

Scratch that. I think I just ran into that bug. I was in Illium and I was near the door underneath Liara office and I was about to head back to the Normandy and the game froze. I had to open up the task manager to end task, sigh:(
