Mass Effect 2 (2010)

Cerberus Key not working
So, on my old computer I'd gotten the Cerberus stuff and was using it just fine, but that computer died. I got a new computer and installed ME2 onto it, but when I try to put in the Cerberus Key to get the DLC from that pak it says it was already used and I can't access the contents.

Select add a game to enter each DLC code key and then game key from the steam game. Confirm each and then start the ME2 steam game and it should connect. That's what worked for me.

Steam version of the game does not differ from the torrent version, here, too, does not work any connection with Cerberus and the DLC. Only download through special sites or the game and all DLC in Origin.

I didn't download anything - when I bought ME2 (and it was on Steam), it came with the Cerberus key.

Well ... ever tried the button "new content" ? - tries to connect to a bioware-homepage, which does not exist any more. so we never get the "new content", dlcs and so on ... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ origin/ea negates their duty to their customers :gobking:

I think that problem stems from the fact that us consumers didn't rebel against that methodology when we had the chance.

Now, they take servers offline whenever they believe they cost too much. Single player gaming without a tether is eroding slowly.

And if we accept the leash, they can cut the content loose at any time and leave us with... a collar, suitable for another leash I guess. Anyway I have lots of games that at least work if I type in the CD key--or just work anyway without that sort of validation.

too bad the internet business model treats most users poorly--but then actually now that I think about it, nowadays we are the product. I guess they can't treat us like people if we're revenue streams.

I spent almost an hour looking for how to download the steam-purchased DLC. Found this link

I downloaded all that stuff previously, and it all installed -- but then it says oh your account isn't entitled to anything but what was listed on steam, pretty much (I had to type in the cerberus license key that came with steam, but the other downloads are not listed as having one...)

I know the nexusmods .dll file can correct this issue, but I am hoping that EA's own site has the means for resolving this situation amically, being a Paragon with only minor renegade tendancies and all that.

I am having a similar problem. I've downloaded the dlc content but when I put in the cerberus game key it just says that it's an error and "communication to the Mass Effect 2 server was interrupted or has timed-out". Can someone please shed some light on this.

The Cerberus network is defunct and no longer operational. BioWare / EA has made the DLC universally available, it appears. https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/download-dlc-for-classic-origin-games/

Correction: You need to login with your Origin login (not Cerberus) to activate the DLC. I THINK if you buy the DLC through Origin in works. I'm not sure. I bought the DLC back in the day with my BioWare account, which got merged with the Origin account.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks a lot. This seems to have worked for me as well.
