Delaying the suicide mission for one mission

So I ended up in an awkward spot where I have no loyalty for either Samara or Jack (tbh, I found both characters kinda dull so I was never interested), however after spoiling myself I learned that as a result of this they take Thane. . . WHY? I would rather one of them die if they can't hold the biotic shield, but it seems the game doesn't and would rather take my troubled assasin (according to a chart I saw online).


Anywho, I know I lose non squad members if I go and do one of either character's loyalty mission before going into the relay. What effect would either the engineers below or that annoying clerk dying have upon my ME3 playthrough? Just tell me how significant they are for ME3. I'm obviously trying not to spoil myself in this too much (which is kinda how I ended up in this situation lol)

They have little impact on ME3 story. Thane, Jack, Samara and the rest of the team are much more important.

Saving the crew (engineers and the other secretary lady whose name I can't remember) are only useful for the ME2 achievement and basically just make cameo appearances in ME3. Your squad members have a much larger impact in the third game

Thanks guys! It feels weird to not get reminders about my inbox any more, but that's about it lol. Everybody else survived. Now it's time to finish the rest of the dlc quests and then off to ME3 I go.

There are certain war assets in mass effect 3 that are huge and worth getting but they require certain squad mates to be alive and loyal.

First is the krogan battalion.
This requires urdnot wrex be leading the krogan and mordin be alive and loyal and to actually cure the genophage.
Not too hard
(Mordin is lined up to be one of the last to die in the suicide mission you’d have to go in with the bare minimum for him to be at risk)

Next is the salarian fleet
This is obtained if thane is alive and loyal.
He will get in kai lengs way saving the salarian councilors life and the councilor will reward you with a fleet for earth.

Next is the question fleet and the Geth armada.
Now this can be tricky since the factions are at odds but you can get both.
Getting both is not possible unless legion and tali survived the suicide mission and are loyal.
Plus you have to pass a renegade/paragon check.

Those squad mates are vital to get really good assets.

I thought Mordin is one of the weakest and most easily killed, that's why I always send him to escort the crew back to the Normandy.
