Why couldn't I romance Liara?

So I played throught the shadow broker dlc (It was fun) and I watched a few youtube videos, you are supposed to be able to first hug then kiss her. Now my problem is that the second choice didn't come up and I couldn't kiss her. I already invited her to the normandy once, do I still have a shot at romancing her? Or should I just move on and romance someone else?

You have to have romanced Liara in the first Mass Effect game and imported your save. If you already started a romance with someone else - even if you didn't culminate it - she will see you as locked in to a romance with someone else.

I believe to have a relationship with Liara in ME 2 you need to have a relationship with her in ME1. LotSB is pretty much a love letter to and from Liara (if you romanced her in ME1) since this is the firs time she's seen you since the events of the start of the game.

(If your not in a relationship with her the LotSB DLC feels a bit meh but heh I liked Ash better lol)

Well, might as well romance Tali then, she seems nice

For the full relationship its better to start ur romance in ME1 I believe u can romance liara in ME3 but youll miss ALOT of cutsence that r different. Best bet next time u play the trilogy go for liara.


Tali's not bad even if i found one thing disapointing. Shes a nice person and i can say the interactions with her are sweet.

Ive done runs of the trilogy with Garrus , Liara , Tali and Ashley as LI so far ive liked Tali and Ash alot! Different experiences from two different ppl

You are correct, you can romance Liara in ME3 without romancing her in ME1 or continuing the romance in ME2 Shadow Broker.

If you romanced Liara in ME1 and want to continue, you have to be quick after the point you hug her because there is a very brief paragon mouse option to kiss her. Without it, no relationship.
