Fixes for various ME2 crashes

Here are the various fixes I used to get past different straight-to-blackscreen, game-breaking crashes. When these happened, it temporarily corrupted my save file, titling it "Unknown Save". The work around for this is to create or load another save file from another character. Once that is loaded, simply load the original save file, which will no longer be corrupted. It essentially crashes so hard, the game forgets where the save is.

Crash in the hallway under Liara's office: run the game in windowed mode, wait for the advertisement (over the loudspeaker) to finish before moving down the hallway.

Crash at the end of Kasumi's loyalty mission: Go to My Computer > (C:) > Steam > steamapps > common > Mass Effect 2 > Binaries. Right click on the "ME2game.exe" (16k KB). Go to "Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)". Right click on the new desktop shortcut of ME2 and go to properties. On the target line, go to the end of the line, past the end quotations, leave a single space, and type "nomoviestartup" (without the quotations). Run the game from that shortcut.

Crash at the end of the car chase in Lair of the Shadow Broker: I ran the game in windowed mode, on the lowest graphics settings, in Windows 7 compatibility mode, as administrator.

Crash in the Shadow Broker's ship, at the motion dampener dialogue: Run the game in windowed mode.

If there are any more crashes that I come across, I will post the solutions here. This is a great game, but sadly no longer supported and, it seems, not designed for overlays like Steam or Origin.

I tried the solution for the car chase black screen and every other one I have seen suggested elsewhere and it does not work. I am now stuck in this level with no way out as I have no other saves for this character before I started the mission. Any ideas? :(

It did take quite a few tries to work for me (I think around 8-10). Maybe try using the method for the end of Kasumi's mission? The nomoviestartup may help. If that doesn't work, I'll start up a new save and see if I can help you out.

Its ok I moved the game to the my d drive instead of the f drive and it worked thank god :/

same problem, no fix yet: D: vs F: hdd or ssd or ???

moved from fast SSD to HDD and ran Win 7 compat, as admin, windowed, -nomoviestartup, and got it to work
