Yes the majority (not all) of ME2 DLC is still *NOT FREE* (Big ones like Lair and Arrival and Overlord are not free, small ones like Normandy Crash Site are, and just because you can download every file does not mean they are all free, you still have to activate them through an EA account, and the DLC files that are not flagged as purchased on your account will not be considered activated, so they won't work ingame).
Yes, if you find any modded files to "crack" the DLC you are committing software piracy.

By the time ME3 came out, EA threw a hissy fit about the whole Steam/Origin thing and decided they were not going to have 3 carried on Steam and Origin, they will just do it on Origin, since Origin is their own thing.
Same. It's the only reason I have an Origin account.
