is the pc port good?
I've played Mass Effect 2 on xbox and I've always wanted to play the entire trilogy. It's super cheap right now on steam so I thought I would buy it. Are there any issues I should know about before buying?

ME3 is only available on Origin (currently very cheap - € 5 over here).

You can play 1 and 2 on Steam and take over your save to Origin ME3, that's no problem. You can even "move" your Steam copies of ME1+2 over to Origin if you want to have all in one place (I think ME1 even gets a free DLC if you do). So except if you hate Origin, that's not a problem.

Big thumbs up for 60fps HD resolution (I play at 1920x1200, for example)

Big thumbs down for no native controller support (all three games). There are mods, I once tried one but that caused all sorts of problems, so I stuck with key+mouse. Maybe you can get it to run with controller, but no guarantee.

ME2 gets some extra minus points because I have to manually log in to EA everytime I start the game to get access to my DLC, and because they didn't bother a minute with the controls (no mouse wheel support in menus, editing config file for setting mouse sensitivity).

But why not try the ME2 demo?

As far as I have noticed, you only have to log in to the Cerberus network once, to validate your DLC's. After that it does not seem to matter if you log in or not.

Example: Zaeed or Kasumi are still with you, even if you do not log in. All your DLC missions (Shadowbroker, Overlord etc.) are still in your mission list. Also - all alternative outfits are also still available if you do not log in.

I might be wrong of course, but it seems to me you only have to log in when you have installed a new DLC (or at a new fresh install with DLC's), to set some "approval" flag or something.

Hands down one of the best games I have played .. was not only made for xbox was also for pc so not exactly a port.. does not feel at all like one.
its overwhelmingly positive reviews for a reason.

I played ME2 at release on PC. It was a great and good game. No technical issue. It was under Vista, intel Q9300, AMD 3850 1Gb, 4Gb ddr 2 an ran fine.

Thanks, I'll try.
I have pissed may hours of my life away on this trilogy. I'm about to do it again.
