Mass Effect 2 (2010)

Mass Effect Modder: How To Use?
I can't find an .exe in the Github .zip I unpacked.

Link that I used, in case that's where I'm wrong: https://github.com/MassEffectModder/MassEffectModder

I can open the contained files fine through Notepad++ and they appear to be legit, but I can't figure out how to run it. Is there somethihng big I'm missing here? Thanks in advance!

Have you tried...

... reading the linked the "User Guide" helpfully linked to in the page you visited?
I have, to no avail. There's no section where it helpfully shows which button runs the whole package.

Again, I'm probably missing something big, so it'll be easier for both of us if you just point it out so I can feel stupid and keep going.

Weeelll... if you have read the User Guide, then you should already know that on Page 4 of that guide, there's a URL pointing to a webpage where you can download a Zip file containing the actual .exe for MEM...

(Copy the whole URL and paste it in your browser. You might have to remove spaces in the URL.)

Yup, feeling stupid. Thought that was a duplicate link/for people who hadn't downloaded the rest yet and not a new file. I need to work on my skimming skills, lol.

Thanks for helping a fool! :2016villain:

This took me way too much time to figure out, too: just click on the "release" link in the page's center - https://github.com/MassEffectModder/MassEffectModder/releases

The link to download the EXE is: https://github.com/MassEffectModder/MassEffectModder/releases then click on MassEffectModder-v410.7z... idk why it's so hard to post something straight forward like this post...

Maybe because you have to know WHAT you're looking FOR - I know I've missed stuff several times because I had no clue what to look for.

I just found a solution to the same problem (I have the Legendary Edition) :

As specified on Git, v438 is 'For OT only' (OT = Original Trilogy) so what you actually need to download is v503 'For LE only' (LE = Legendary Edition) which was posted just below/before v438.

(But here's the link : https://github.com/MassEffectModder/MassEffectModder/releases/tag/503 ,you just need to download MassEffectModder-v503.7z )

Just download it, extract it then run the .exe file and go to 'Game Utilies' of the game you want to mod and then click 'Check Game Files' to be sure it recognizes your game. Mine worked perfectly so good luck.

Don't know if you're still looking but it won't hurt to know ^^

PS : If your Mass Effect game is not the Legendary Edition and you still got this error then I don't know what to do to help, sorry.
