Last playthrough without DLC, kinda rushing it, skipping dialogue and cutscenes: 15 hours.
Next playthrough, same for base game, but playing DLC and not skipping anything there: 28 hours.
ME2 isn't that long though, only 10-30 hours.
If so, reason (spoiler):
If you don't have everyone loyal and everything upgraded, squadmates defending will start dying weakest first (mordin always first if he is there). To increase the odds of survival have the strongest squadmates on the line and bring the weakest with you (squadmates with you cannot die). In your case, had Grunt been defending and Jack with you, propably would have kept everyone safe.
Defending:
Thane Krios
Jack
Miranda Lawson
Tali'Zorah vas Neema
Samara
Jacob Taylor
Garrus Vakarian
Mordin Solus(Ship)
With me during the boss Legion and Grunt.
And there's people who rush games, even RPG, and end up with 20 hours. Yep. They exist.
