Favorite Class in the series?!
I know this topic has been done to death but what are ya'll's favorite class to play? The majority seems to be vangaurd or infiltrator and the least seems to be sentinel. WHY? I love the sentinel!!!

I think infiltrator is pretty fun to play. Get me a biotic for support and to slow enemies down and Tali and I'm good to go :D
Infiltrator is the best in ME1 I think. Sniping is a bit difficult, so there is challange, but it does a lot of damage so the reward is high. And you can remove the weapon sway with the assassination ability. I don't remember how it works in ME2 anymore, but I'm sure it's dumbed down a bit.

I've enjoyed them all except for Engineer, it's just not that amazing, my fallbacks are Vanguard,Soldier,Adept.

true. engineer just seems so "eh". Tech is powerfu, sure, but it doesnt do much for me. I love the flexiblilty of the sentinel. Tech armor is incredible.

Yeah it's crazy strong, i love Sentinel in multiplayer.

infiltrator followed by soldier, that scoping and slow down of time followed by some clean headies with the anti-material sniper rifle at range. you can control the entire fight with the right choices on which targets are... problematic (pun intended). you can also shoot targets that leave just enough of themselves when trying to hide behind a corner and further with the anti-armour ammo, thin metal walls are easy to reach the target. i am especially partial to headshotting YMIR mechs, the explosion is well worth the effort and it's made even better if there are enemies around it.

the soldier is an all purpose mobile weapons platform and add that adrenaline boost to your fights and you will end up going from a weapons platform to an all out armoured tank that can not be stopped. you camp out at a defensable location that you can deal with, you won't even need a team to help you out as you have the ability to last a while.

biotic type of classes i can't really get into, not my type of thing. mostly comes from the traditional fps shooters. the most experience by that is Wolf ET.

the ME1 infiltrator class isn't that great honestly, it takes a while to scope down a target and it takes time to recharge between shots plus any interruption, it comes into it's own in ME2 where you can scope down and slow time, in ME1 it's about trying to get the most powerful sniper rifle you can with the best mods and from there it is just a matter of reactions like a player playing as soldier on ME3 multiplayer is trying to kill a collector and misses the target with his or her mantis rifle, you got to be precise with your attacks. it's also more needed in ME2 because you only got limited thermal clips to use.

Just played through ME1 with Sentinel for the first time. I never found interest in even trying because a bit of tech and a bit of biotic didn't seem very interesting.

I was surprised how powerful it is. I think this was my easiest run yet, even though I played hardcore for the first time. Powers for any situation make a difference, plus electronics and barrier makes it almost invulnerable.

And it was more fun than I thought. Now in ME2, and I'm disappointed. Tech armor is good, but powers are too weak in ME2, and cooldown too slow for the low impact. I've maxed out some powers already, but they're so weak that I mostly resort to shooting enemies. Even with pistol and SMGs it's much faster that way.

Quite interested how it'll turn out in ME3, where powers are ridiculously strong if you have +200% recharge speed. I've seen videos of people being completely invulnerable with it, just standing next to enemies shooting at them and nothing happens.

The only class I've never tried so far is Engineer. Tech only seems uninteresting, I prefer biotics because it's so much fun to throw enemies around. But I think next time I'll try it because then I have played every class, and who knows, maybe I'll like it, like Sentinel.

My favourite will always be Vanguard though, as it's the most aggressive class. Most adrenaline. Biotic Charge is just insane in ME3.

Generally I seem to prefer the mixed classes to the "pure" ones. If I had to do a ranking, it would probable be (without Engineer because never played):

1. Vanguard
2. Sentinel
3. Infiltrator
4. Adept
5. Soldier

You know what, I'll give my Sentinel playthrough a break now and start an Engineer one. ME1 is more fun than ME2 anyway.

For me I'd say:

1. Infiltrator
2. Vangaurd
3. Adept
4. Sentinel
5. Engineer
6. Soldier

I tried a series playthrough with a soldier and I got to ME3 and I literally could not force myself to finish because soldier is just that damn boring.

^ i pick the soldier back in me1 too, seemd the moste fitting but its the most basic of the classes.

i realy like the engeniers... (Talon Mercenary! 3 arrow hits (melee) and geth primes go down)
Or the basic engenier has a stun for mooks and can make fire explosisions very fast.

ME2 favorite classes:

Infiltrator. Invisibility is completely OP. Sniper damage is already ridiculous, and if running out of sniper ammo is a problem, use the cloak to flank enemies and empty a Shuriken on them.

Sentinel. More shields than a siege tank, ridiculous -30% cooldowns (which stack with -20% from research) allow you to spam throw and cryo blast. Warp and Overload for power damage on anything. Hard-counters enemy biotics because your Warp breaks their barriers while their Warp is ineffective on shields.

Vanguard: The charge ability is flat-out overpowered. Great for closing distance gaps or regenerating shields. You get Shockwave if Charge isn't obnoxious enough. Only downside is that shotgun damage sucks in Mass Effect 2.

Problems with the others:

Adept: A generally badly designed class, in particular because the global cooldown rewards classes with diverse powers. As an adept, your skillbar is: Warp, Crowd Control, Crowd Control, Crowd Control, and more Crowd Control. Meanwhile you have no real defenses built-in and you have no counters against shields (particularly heavy shields at range - see also: YMIR robots).

Engineer: Main problems are that Overload and AI manipulation are only good against shields and synthetics (completely ineffective on Collector missions), and combat drone damage is low.

Soldier: The main problem is the lack of cooldown reduction, and you have limited ammo. Even worse, the Avenger has lower DPS than a Tempest, however this problem disappears later once you unlock the Revenant.
-----------------------

IMO the global cooldowns are garbage because they reward maxing out your most useful abilities and ignoring the others. With separate cooldowns, you have a meaningful choice between using weaker powers more often or having a few stronger powers.
