You don't have to wait to use Chococat. You craft without him.
Sure you may get a bonus if you choose to have him in your "party", which is optional.
I'd say, plan better, or don't rush the game. wait for daily resets. take your time
That's what I'm saying here. I always use chococat for the bonuses. The problem is you start a quest and most of them are easy and quick to do. Every now and then you have a craft quest for Chococat that takes several days if you don't have everything right away. You can't really plan for that unless you follow a guide that will ultimately ruin the experience to a point. I don't wish to spoil everything and most players are not going to use a guide. Most players will be caught off guard for that quest and won't get their bonuses from Chococat until they complete it.
I know you can keep crafting without Chococat but it sucks that you lose out on all the extra material you could have been making just because he can't be following you during the quest.
To not spoil for others, this is post-workbench quest. He asked me to craft something, which I did, and immediately upon completion he said, "Hey, let's craft another one of these!" I was like, "heck no, not now - I'll leave it for later." Except now there are 2-3 other unrelated quests that can't progress because he's involved in them, plus I'm locked out of using any characters involved in those quests because they're standing at the quest starting point and are "busy", so I'm forced to complete Chococat's quest first.
It's going to take me 3-4 days to collect enough materials (and finally be able to do the other quests), as one material only spawns 15 at a time and I don't have a ton because they're also used in crafting loved items to boost friendship. Using blossom bouquets seems like a total waste just to collect enough of this one material, as I don't have time to run around the island repeatedly to take advantage of using the bouquets. (And, much as I'm loving the game, I wouldn't want to do 4 resource runs in a row, heh.)
