Is this worth playing over Animal Crossing NL?
Is it at least as good or is this just a mobile game ported over? Looking for a similar experience but not if it is less polished. Thanks!

Two completely different games with completely different gameplays. I don’t get why people keep comparing them or calling this one “Hello Kitty Animal Crossing”. Yeah both are tied to real time, have a museum and you can decorate visitors houses (NH), at some point there’s flower growing too, but that’s basically just that and the progress is totally different. Apple and oranges lol.

Here it’s really like a mobile game (without micro-transactions). The progress is through quests depending of your friendship level with the Sanrio characters, and when you can’t progress for a day you need to wait for the next day to play again. The map is way bigger with different themes (island, swamp, volcano, desert) and you can’t decorate the outdoors (except flowers and plant on defined areas). You’ve got very limited base furnitures to decorate with, same for clothing (except if you paid for the deluxe edition but items you get through it are accessible by playing the game normally during events). Sanrio NPCs don’t have dialogue outside quests.

You have defined and precise goals with HKIA which have made to be followed to progress through the game, that’s a few hours of playtime per day, at the beginning at least. In NL and other Animal Crossing main consoles games, you define your own goals and can play as much as you want within a play session depending of what you want.

Hope this helps.

Animal crossing has far more depth to it and its characters (surprisingly). I love this game but it’s much different from animal crossing and a little more similar to Disney dreamlight valley. Again, I love this game, but animal crossing is miles better. But I’m a bit biased because AC is my favorite franchise of all time.
