Its really really cryptic
You can do puzzles/races together, trade, have your own house on their island you can decorate and loot their ressources which are not shared so one of you will be missing out (theres currently a bug where it looks like certain items are duplicated for both of you but they'll be removed from the guests inventory at the end of the session). You can't advance quests together.
"cant advance quests together"
ooof. a bug, or by design?
The host can do quests but the visitor won't be able to actively participate and the visitors progress for quests won't save as the quests are for the hosts world.
Also
Visitor aren't able to recruit companions to follow them around/buff them, but the host can for themselves (the buff/skill isn't shared among the players)
Visitor will have access to areas/tools/stamina the host has access to,
- so if someone just started they could join me and have 6 stamina bars, pickaxe, diving and all areas I have unlocked while in my world
- but if I visit them I lose my stamina/tools to match them and I can only access the areas they have unlocked
There is multiplayer quests/friendship levels that will give you access to new emotes and skills. These quests lock how many you can complete per week tho (the reset is monday). These rewards include abilities like shared pickup (which is great for not stealing eachothers resources) and better mobility while together
Thank you, this is a fantastic explanation of the MP in the game. It's really silly they designed MP this way. Animal Crossing Switch all over again lol
