Does anyone feels like this is just a bad port?
I can't help but think that this is just a poorly made and overpriced port

I can relate to some parts of your opinion.

Personally, I would have been happier if the Steam version supported the Workshop and had a more user-friendly experience.

For example, something like the custom design feature in Animal Crossing—allowing players to add user-created furniture, use mods that grant free camera angles, adjust character positions and poses, or even modify the cabin room size. I think those kinds of features would have made the game even more fun.

I bought the Steam version expecting those possibilities, so it’s disappointing that they aren’t available.

It's objectively overpriced but every Sanrio product ever is. You can buy $1.25 journals or you can buy a Sanrio branded one for $15. Didn't play mobile so I can't compare but I am happy I got more than 10 hours of gameplay. I do like what Kyoro Chan said above though, that would have been neat.
"Poorly made" - I think in terms of graphics, it is pretty cute. Not only the characters and furniture, but also the outside environment. But in terms of gameplay, after 50+ hours I am actually questioning it. The first 5-10 hours were good fun, lots of exploring and discovery. Succeeding hours (for me at least) is just gathering stuff, completing dailies, then logging off. It's a chore! Every time my dad passed by and saw me playing, I was just picking up items. And I seriously started questioning if I was even having fun, lol.

"Overpriced" - Oh, definitely.

"Port" - not sure if this description should be separated, but I would really like to point out the issue with controller mapping! I swapped some buttons around, and suddenly choosing an emote causes the character to jump and I can never emote because the jump cancels it. And when I was trying to collect fizzy thingies with the mine cart, it kept asking me if I wanted to leave early instead of picking up the item.
It's unity. So, maybe less of a port, but more of recompile.
More robust photo-mode would be cool. like AC-New Horisons one that allows to literally make comics and short movies.
i have serious culling issues, things are just popping in and out, even if camera can clearly see them and there is no too much reason for it to happen, like, my pc isn't top notch, but good enough to keep up with more models on screen.
With all the repetitiveness it still keeps me more invested than any animal crossing though, even if there is barely any customisation.

All in all, I see the problems, I agree with them in one way or another, but regional prices helped me.

Yeah I feel like I’m playing a walking around & picking things up simulator. Unless they introduce a new mechanic soon, this is bound to get old. I appreciate the game for what it is but part of me wants to go back to my mobile save because it makes more sense on that platform.
