The only tip I can give because I'm new myself is:

FOCUS on gifting your in-game friends their preferred gifts each real day because your friends unlock progress in this game.

I also recommend watching tips and such video's.
Don't get overwhelmed, and don't try to hammer everything out. Just follow the main quest at your own pace until you unlock the fast travel, then just follow your heart mostly and be sure to collect everything you find.
Be chill and quiet, the game is not designeg to rush out. In terms of trying to be faster to get higher friendship to get the next mission.

Just play chill and wait for the next day to gift anothers presents. The roses the game give you save up and only waste when you find it necessary.

If you buyed the Deluxe Edition save them, because you gonna get a bunch of them for use.
I dont even know how to gift anyone!

Only tips I'd say as someone who played since launch on Steam.

Always do your weekly quests.
This will reward you with Strawberry crates which are drip fed through the weekly quests. (Unless you use My Melody's special ability you'll run out even faster).

Each friend as special abilites that make certain interactions easier -
Hello Kitty - When Maxed out always makes a spare food sources and increases the friendship rating of the characters (Perfect for min/maxing).
Chococat - Makes all crating resources have a chance to give you an extra crafting material (This is overpowered for quest completion. Making Wood/Iron become easier to get).
Pochacco - Runs infinitely faster (This makes doing time trials easier).
My Melody - Makes Strawberry crates stuff for the visitor cabins cheaper by 1 crate.
Hangyodon - Makes swimming faster and run out of air slower while under water.
Tuxedosam - 25% chance to get extra items in shops.

Visitors are time sensitive later on. Since certain characters will only appear on those days. So having a cabin ready means you can do their quest. 5 stars makes them move in permanent meaning free items that can be fed to other friends to get resources.

Depends what you want from the game.
It rewards you for daily playing. So if you have 30 minutes to spare each day then this game is for you. When you first start the game the amount of things you can do is fairly limited. Eventually opening up more and more stuff through the game. (Unless you use the items you are given by the dev team the game is a crawl.)

yea I see the structure now and how others have mentioned almost everything is behind friendship levels but I'm really just trying to enjoy it and take it easy but still was curious of some good guidelines
