I can't even comprehend why it's so difficult for piranhabytes to develop a game with decent combat. I mean this isn't even their first, second, or third game. It is their 6th. CD Projeckt Red goofed on witcher 1 but came back with a different and much better combat system in Witcher 2. It's a little too twitchy and fast for some people, but for those with quick reactions, the system works beautifully.
Witcher 3 will no doubt blow many minds with the final conclusion to Geralts story. Risen 3 on the otherhand looks no different than Risen 2 except it clearly lacks the pirate/voodoo/carribbean theme. It's almost like Piranhabytes aren't even trying.
"Risen 3: None of that pirate BS this time"
That alone could be their marketing slogan and Im pretty sure it would work - would probably even get *me* to pre-order.
I agree, every effort post Gothic 2 has been disappointing *especially* so since they have such a winning formula in the core elements of the gameplay/world design. All they'd have to do is 'more of the same' and increase the world a bit, add a few new items. small stuff
I have been at places that an average person would call the downfall of humanity (counter strike scene, moba community) but this kid still accomplished to creep me out with his disturbing death wishes.
Hate is a strong word, I don't hate him, it's just that he is sometimes so uninformed & these over the top angry rants about youtube copyright & other things while he really doesn't even give two ♥♥♥♥♥ unless it makes him money, makes it really hard to take him seriously.

I really don't like the Modern Warfare Call of Duty games. I've never purchased one and never will, I also don't spend time in their forums talking about how much they suck. Does no one but me see that as a huge waste of time?
Come at me with a better insult, plebian sheep.
Total Biscuit LIked Watchdogs gameplay as did most reviewers. As did I, everything else about the game aside, the gameplay was solid.
Watch Dogs was like a poor mans sleeping dogs, they couldnt even come up with an original game. Seeing the reviewers bow down to that game for being given a free phone was stupid I thought.
Watch Dogs was a heck of a lot better then Sleeping Dogs
So was my last turd.
Now I heard it all....
Remember every reviewer only can subjectively tell his or her likes. And equally we as players have our own likes and dislikes.
For instance someone might give the latest Call Of Duty a 10 out of 10. Means little to me as I don't really do shooters and only keep counterstrike as well in the past I did play that. Mmm counterstrike.
As the malkavian mindnetwork works. The sender pours the message through his/her own madness and the reciever pours it through his/her own madness to. Causing at least two points of subjectivity to have happened.
And this happens amongst us here to. We might not like a certain type of game. Or really love it even though another person doesn't likes it.
Now Angry Joe, to me it is entertainment. He makes entertaining content and reviews. Now I don't go by his standard if a game would be nice for ME or not.
I just want to know more about the game. How does it plays, what is it story, how are the characters working out and so on.
Same with TB's WTF series. And as TB says, WTF is not a review. Also I don't go to just one website to read the game review, yes read, I actually read reviews. Not just to one website but to many more. Even the flawed metacritic at least tells me something.
And importantly if it is possible a Lets Play. I find a nice lets play and see if I like what I see.
In the end I got the time, not sure how old all of you are but I am above 30. I don't game as much as I used to and if I do I tend to have chosen the game pretty well. I did my research I checked things out and well..
Now Risen 1, yes Risen, is awesome.. and it runs on this laptop. And that is a big thing for me since I run a laptop. It really matters now to me to actually hunt down either smaller games or older games. A shame really..
Oh well look to me reviewers and review websites are not THE LAW. They are a suggestion and each of us have to subjectively decide what to do with the information given.
Come on enjoy yourself. Now Risen 3, eh.. it might actually be good. Hey Angry Joe might give it an 8 or7 out of ten. Who knows, well Joe does..once he plays it.
