Killing named animals?
I have noticed a duck named dagobert at the farm in caldera and another duck called little timmy near where you rescue emma from in antiga. Does anyone know if they are "special" or can you just kill them for the sake of it?

Rule of thumb- anything that is named is most probably part of a quest. These are too perhaps.

Well I am glad I restarted because I had killed them previously.

Some of them are just jokes of the developers. There is a duck called Dagobert, if you don't know Dagobert Duck... you are probably too young to play this game anyway. If you kill it and loot it, it will give you 100 gold!

The names rang bells, but I wasn't sure. I am old enough to know that real oldschool games were very unforgiving and could be "broken" by killing a crucial NPC. So I am guessing that the "little timmy" duck may be a reference to "little timmy who was stuck down a well", as everyone from the simpsons to fallout one and two have used that reference.

Or... you're just not from a German speaking country. Its English name is Scrooge (McDuck).

Little Timmy is another easteregg. Check the tombstones on the nearby graveyard for Big Timmy.

Seems to have something to do with WoW. That's what came up when I googled Little Timmy. Not that that game deserves any mention in any other game.

The managing director of Piranha Bytes, Michael Rüve, has a picture of Scrooge McDuck on his office door. Perhaps it's an inside joke about that.

none of the named animals are for a quest.

Yeah, they are Easter Eggs. Like the skulls and bones on some mountains =).

You probably mean the grave of Timo the Great. Alas does not lead to anything more, but interesting observation.

---- and here I thought it was referring to "Lassie". In another game by a Belgian company (I think; Larian), there is a letter in a house written by Little Timmy about his lost dog who likes to chase skeletons. :)
