Controller support
Anyone know if this will use a 360 controller? Like i see the game is being released for PS3 and Xbox 360..so it can be playable with a controller but steam has this game as only partial controller support. Does the PC version not handle controllers?

Risen 2 has partial controller support, so I think it's safe to assume Risen 3 will have it too.

I never played risen 2 lol. I played the first one but had to use a pinnacle profile to have the stuff mapped out. I heard people used a controller for Risen 2, but I don't know about the 3rd. IF it sucks I may just have to pick it up for the console and deal with lower quality and no modding :(....or I can wait for a modder to make a pinnacle profile...Jeez 1st world problems huh lol.

I was wondering the exact same thing. I got Risen 1 for 360 just because I prefer playing with a controller and the PC version didn't have native controller support. Graphics mean less to me than controller support as I primarily game on the TV.

I then skipped Risen 2 because pirates didn't interest me and I read a lot of bad stuff about it.

I did a bit of research on Risen 2 though, figuring that Risen 3 would probably support controllers at least as well as Risen 2 did. From what I found, it seems Risen 2 did have native controller support AND, if you switched to controller mode, it actually changed the UI to be like the 360 game, dropping the shortcut bar for radial menus. Seems it only worked with XInput controllers though, so you needed a 360 controller or a program to emulate one. I got this info from this article: http://www.destructoid.com/sailing-the-high-seas-in-risen-2-dark-waters-222806.phtml where it says "There are separate user interfaces depending on what you use to play. If you use a mouse and keyboard, you'll have a quick bar at the bottom of the screen that you can use the number keys or mouse cursor to access. If you want to play with an Xbox 360 controller, the action bar is replaced by a radial menu that pauses the game when you bring it up."

I'm hoping this means Risen 3 will follow suite and I can play it like a console game (computer hooked to my TV, wireless controller) but benefit from the perks of a PC version (tweak-able graphics settings, chance of modding).

Also dev guy answers question about controller support here: http://www.twitch.tv/deepsilver/b/555332995?t=18m45s

Wish he'd actually shown it though...

We can all read that it says parcial support....thank you for that. The second one said the same thing but actually supported fully the controller and keyboard so we are just asking if it works like number 2 or did they stip some functionality for the controller .

I'm playing with what seems to be full controller support...

360 controller works perfect, xbox one controller works perfect, have tried them both. You just have to go to the menu and then turn on controller and they will work. I have played about 40 hour so far with a xbox one controller and about 1 hour with 360 controller.
