PC Keyboard/Mouse Layout
How do you actually play this game with keyboard and mouse?
Do i have to get used to the crappy controls?
Because i can't seem to use my mouse AT ALL, these are among the worst pc controls i've seen, well otherwise, im gonna get a 360 controller on Tuesday, i can't get one before then, that's why i thought maybe you could help me out here until then? :-)

TT LEGO games have never had mouse support. They are straight console ports and play best with a controller (the 360 controller being your best option). Perhaps this will change if PC sales are good enough to warrant extra development time. On the plus side, you can play split-screen using a single keyboard.

Most past LEGO games couldn't make use of a mouse anyway. Each level uses a fixed camera that can be adjusted only slightly. It's only the more recent games that have started including an open overworld with a freely adjustable camera... mouse control would make sense here, but the meat of the game (the levels) can't make use of it.

There are a thousand games with fixed cameras that have mouse support that work perfectly find. Also this game has free aim which could have been used by the mouse. Using the keyboard to move and the mouse to aim and shoot would have worked perfectly. Hell they could have just let us map the mouse buttons.

you can change the layout of the pc controls into something more comfortable under seettings... but yeah, the no-mouse control sucks.

I have nevr had a problem playing lego games with my keyboard. I've found a button scheme I use every game.

U can use AWSD for moving, numpad arrows for camera and arrows for action buttons. I actually use gamepad-like layout on arrows - UP jump, LEFT toggle, DOWN special, LEFT action. Or it's left for action on consoles... Anyway, that's comfortable.

But most of the time I play those LEGO games using a gamepad =)

Just a question
I was wondering.. Can I play this game with a friend coop-Offline with 2 xbox controllers ?
If not, do you recommend to use the program "Xpadder" ?
Thanks!! :claugh:

Yes, you can play 2 player local co-op on the same screen with 2 Xbox conrollers, or 1 controller and one keyboard if that's your thing ^^

What control pads would be recommended for this game?

I play split screen coop a lot, so mostly end up using the keyboard as I only have one controller. WASD for movement and HJKU for your buttons seems to work pretty well, once you get used to it. I don't know if there are any free look presets, but I don't find myself needing to use these anyway.

This also bothered me a lot when i started. I ended up switching the uhjk buttons over to my numpad 8456 keys

So... is using a controller the only way to get past the buggy keyboard controlls not permitting rotation handles to turn?

Yup, i ended up buying an Xbox controller, it's actually quite nice and i've started using it for allot of third-person games like Darksiders 2, Batman Arkham Series and so on ;)
Pick one up, it's not very expensive (Atleast not here, in Sweden) :fhappy:

How do you get this game to recognize JUST the 360 controller oppose to both the keyboard and 360 controller as the game seems to think that there is a second player locally.
