So far. I can't figure it out. For some reason she treat it like a side character only support your team. Just go get Careena instead for now.

Hina will most likely not be a playable character but just a companions who fights by your side. If you look at some of the wiki's etc you only see 5 playable characters mentioned. As far as i know there was also no mentions of any sort of subclass for Hina in the press releases. Bit of a shame but i guess she is a pivotal to the story.

U can not and will not be able to play as Hinna. She is a support character, not a main one.

No you cannot. It’s explained a bit later alms don’t normally fight, hence why they need soul guards to protect them. Some characters made exceptions for themselves later in story.

superficial and artificial workaround lore is always so incredibly "fascinating". so what you're trying to say is that they didn't even manage to finish, or generally come up with compelling stories for 5 main characters?

maybe I'm getting old. but I'm genuinely curious how does this sort of modern videogame "writing" and stories compare to more memorable storylines like (maybe) the original FF7... or imho for condensed examples, more so; Tactic's Ogre, for instance. on a scale from 1 to 10? anyone even old or retroactively curious enough to share some impressions?

Like generally most modern videogame-stories seem to revolve around literally 1-3, if at all. especially for over-hyped often non-independent products. frequently unbearable after mere minutes and just a few single-digit convos.

Not sure what this means but Hina is a main story focus, shes just not a playable character due to the lore.
maybe later when a mod can fix that

This guy are sick.

More seriously, come on. You are getting old, because the original FF7's writing was a mess and the only reason you think otherwise is you hadn't played anything better at the time and you're looking back at it through nostalgia-tinted glasses.

I'd go so far as to say most modern story-heavy games have better writing than FF7 did. Any of the Trails games, any Xeno game, most visual novels or ADV games... it's a very low bar.

But backing up a bit, the fact that the game has a non-combatant in its main cast is not indicative of the quality of its writing in any way at all. Plenty of games do that. It'd be weird if they made a game who was written to be a noncombatant playable just to satisfy gamers who want to control her.
