How many major modules do you build per floor?
I generally only end up building on or two for each floor on easy. Am I doing it wrong? An additional industry adds so few industry per door, I build one really really early, and then I build a food module next. Beyond that I get worried about wasting the industry by building any more major modules too late in my exploration.

The earlier floors I tend to build 2-3 and then by late game I might have as many as 4-6. Having heroes that can operate are very important (my starting team always has one high wit operator) for the extra resources as well as keeping up with module upgrades. For example, a lvl 1 Industry Generator will take up to 10 turns before it pays for itself, while a lvl 4 generator will only take 5 before becoming profitable. I usually only upgrade to lvl 3 generators unless I have an excess of science to upgrade them to lvl 4.

I build 3-5 per floor, at least, and when I win I usually have several hundreds of each resource left over. Not too hard to figure out, just calculate number of doors left to open vs cost to build.

And build smart so they don't get smashed to pieces by grumpy aliens! Explore the floor in a corridor-like way, then build shooty stuff at bottlenecks. Or really, what I build most are things that slow the enemies, or make them turn on each other etc. Then when I have lots of science I plant the KIP Cannons which often one-shot the smaller aliens and leave the big ones severly wounded.

TL:DR Corridors and bottlenecks.
