Can't equip weapon - bug?

I'm confused about weapons. A minute ago I had a Peashooter equipped on one of my characters. I picked up a Nail Gun and switched to that. Now I want to go back to the peashooter, but double clicking it does nothing. I can equip and remove the Nail Gun repeatedly, but I can't equip the Peashooter any more on either of my characters, and both should use this gun.

Is this a bug?

UPDATE: Others have reported that saving and restarting the game fixes the problem. This has worked for me. Inconvenient, but doable.

Happened to me, I think its bugged atm, keep the item tho, you will be able to equip it on the next floor.

this happens occasionally for me where you can't buy from the shop or can't equip an item the quick fix for me is to quit to the game menu and reload it and then i can properly interface with items. its irritating but its not a difficult fix.

Happens frequently for me (Perhaps every 4 or 5 equips). Quitting and saving, then continuing from the main menu is the quickest workaraound I've found.

Happend to me yeserday on a Multiplayer game where all my group got disconected due to lagkick, no save+quit, was forced to finish the floor alone and with unequipped stuff :D
That was pretty irritating yeah, but I managed to finish the run XD.

This is really an annoying bug as it can happen anywhere, at anytime, so can't buy or sell, can't equip...

Must be a bug, because I had it happen a few times. Even if I unequip something it sometimes won't let me re-equip it. I would if it has something to do with old items from past stages as I see the vendor also doesn't allow selling items from past stages only the current stage.
