For reasons beyond my understanding, it seems to clear up if you just restart Steam.
(Late 2012 iMac, Yosemite)
MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.4
Thank you!
And you're right we should have attached those pieces of information. However, we also now have a solution: apparently OobleckTheGreen from the Amplitude dev forums had the same problem and tracked it down. See http://forums.amplitude-studios.com/showthread.php?41546-Won-t-Start-OSX&p=213545&viewfull=1#post213545
The issue is that on the macs with two graphics cards something in the game or Unity is failing to switch dynamically over to the discrete graphics card from the integrated one. Using gfxCardStatus, a 3rd-party OSS menu bar tool for Mac available at http://gfx.io/. gfxCardStatus displays the currently active graphics card and allows you to toggle between enabling only one or the other of the cards or the standard dynamic switching mode. When I installed it and set it to only enable my discrete AMD RADEON 6750M card (the specific card varies depending on the model of the Mac), the game ran without getting stuck at the same white screen.
Let us know if there are specific steps you'd like us to take to get you logs, as the logfiles that you have been asking for are not being generated on the Mac.
Thanks again!
Also just FYI, the integrated Intel Iris chips in the newer 13" MBPs totally handle the game beautifully.
